University of Puget Sound
and Norton Clapp Theatre
HOW TO GET HERE
Once you enter
Tacoma, on I-5 (from the north or the south) take the Gig Harbor/
Bremerton (Highway 16) Exit (#132). From Highway 16, take the Union
Avenue exit. Take a right at the light at the end of the exit ramp,
and travel north about 2 miles until you begin to see the campus on
your right (North 12th Street). Continue until you reach North 18th
Street. Turn right onto 18th Street. At the end of the street, turn
right into the campus. Proceed to the stop sign and turn right again,
entering the parking circle in front of Jones Hall.
Jones Hall (Bldg.
#17 on the campus map) is located at the top of the parking circle
and is roughly opposite Wheelock Student Center, which is just southeast
of the circle. The Theater Offices are on the first floor of Jones
Hall (Jones 101). The Norton Clapp Theater is located on the second
floor of Jones Hall (north end).
WHERE TO PARK
The circle is
reserved for guest parking. If this area is full, you may park in
General Parking (G) lots as indicated on the campus map and posted
signage.
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY
Handicap parking
and building accessibility is illustrated on the campus map. Wheelchair
access in Jones Hall is through the east door (facing the circle),
basement level. The elevator is located on the north end of the building.
ALTERNATE ROUTES
- Alternate Route from downtown
Tacoma:
Come up South 9th or 11th from downtown to Union Ave. Turn right onto
Union and travel north (continue as directed above).
- Alternate Route
(advisable during afternoon rush hour during the week):
take the Tacoma City Center Exit (I-705) from I-5. From I-705 take
the Schuster Parkway exit and stay on Schuster along the water until
the 30th Street exit. Turn left on 30th. Go up 30th to Union Ave.
Turn left on Union. Go to North 18th and turn left again. (Follow
above directions from here.)
