Biography
Sherry B. Mondou
Sherry Mondou has been with the university since 1991 when she joined the staff as controller. She was promoted to associate vice president for finance in 1999 and to vice president for finance and administration in 2004. Prior to Puget Sound, Sherry held financial management positions with three publicly traded companies. She began her career as an auditor with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG).
As vice president for finance and administration, Sherry provides leadership to safeguard the university’s strong financial health and to continuously improve services in support of the university’s mission and goals. This position is responsible for the management of overall financial affairs, student financial services, facilities services, human resources, career and employment services for students, information services, and business services (including the campus bookstore, dining and conference services, mail and telephone services, and campus security). In this role Sherry works to advance the university’s commitment to collaboration, stewardship and service, and shares leadership of the budget task force with academic vice president Kristine Bartanen. Sherry is also closely involved in the implementation of the campus master plan, our "Tapestry of Learning". Sherry serves as general manager of the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound (ASUPS).
Sherry earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington in 1981, majoring in business administration with an accounting concentration. She is a member of Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA), National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Western Association of College and University Business Officers (WACUBO), and the Pacific Consortium of West Coast Small Business Officers (PACCON). Sherry serves on the board of trustees of Charles Wright Academy. She is a native of the Puget Sound region and lives in the Lake Tapps area with her husband, Wayne, and their son, Nate.
