The instructor will update
and adjust this on-line schedule regularly and as deeded throughout the
semester.
Check back each week before new lesson is introduced. Updates for each week’s lesson plan will be
completed on the previous Friday. The
instructor may need to change the test and quiz dates,
and if so, will announce the change at least two days before the scheduled test
time.

How do students prepare for the new lesson
in Chinese 260? Here is a suggested study plan for you:
|
Students in
Chinese 260 are expected to spend at least 10 hours per week out side of
class for preview and review of each lesson in <中國之路>. Special group
assignments and written work may require additional time to prepare. |
|
|
|
The weekend
before new lesson is introduced, preview the lesson text/vocabulary, and be
prepared for a reading/comprehension quiz on (every)
Monday: |
|
1. Read
through the text (課文 一and 二)carefully three times, using the audio CD and focusing on
comprehension. (1 hour-1.5 hours) |
|
2.
Highlight unfamiliar words/characters <生詞>and check them
against the vocabulary list. Try to learn them in context rather than in
isolation. (1 hour-1.5 hours) |
|

Before
Wednesday’s class: |
|
3. Review
new vocabulary in shaded boxes <你會用下面的詞>(i.e. p.17 &
p.20 in Lesson 1). Learn pinyin and characters (either to type or to write).
(1 hour) |

4. Review
Sentence Patterns <句型>. Work on
Translation exercise <翻譯> . (1 hour) |

Before
Friday’s class: |

5. Finish and edit Translation exercise. Turn in on Friday. |
|
6. Complete
Paragraph Practice <段落練習>, and be ready to read it and
discuss your writing in class. (1.5 hours) |

7. Go over
Discussion <討論> and be ready to
join in the discussion in class. (30 min.) |

Edit
