Sunil Kukreja is professor and former Chair of the Department of Comparative Sociology. He is editor-in-chief of the International Review  of Modern Sociology, and the International Journal of Sociology of the Family. He is a member of the Asian Studies Program and the International Political Economy Program at Puget Sound. He is interested in race relations, political economy, social change, Southeast and South Asia. His current research focuses on race and inequality in Malaysia.
