Other Organic Websites
The sites listed below contain online MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) information.
These sites are useful sources of safety information and physical data on a
wide variety of compounds. The UPS chemistry department maintains MSDS's in
Mike Hottott's office.
- SIRI MSDS index
-- My favorite MSDS site. Easy to use and one of the most comprehensive MSDS
sites available for free and without having to register.
- MSDS Xchange
-- This site requires you to register, but the registration is free. This
site has over a million MSDS's and has the nice feature that you save the
MSDS's you find to a "Binder" so it makes it easier to go back to
them again.
- ChemExper -- A site that provides
chemical information including suppliers, physical properties, over 10,000
MSDS's, and over 10,000 IR spectra.
- Chemfinder -- A popular
site with students. Not exactly an MSDS site, but it provides chemical structures,
physical properties, and hyperlinks to information about chemicals.
META sites: These sites contain links to many other MSDS sites
- MSDS Search -- This
site has links to many MSDS sites and lets you search many of them directly.
- Links to online MSDS sites
-- One of the better introductions to MSDS's with links to other MSDS
sites.
Some other molecule searching sites
- Free Patents Online: Chemical Search -- This site lets you search
patents for chemical compounds. Compounds can be searched by name or graphically by drawing a compound.
- eMolecules -- Database
of commercially available chemicals from 175 suppliers. Structures can be
entered graphically.
