Copy of E-mail Regarding ChemDraw Assignment

Chem 250 students,

I am sending you a ChemDraw homework assignment. The assignment is due on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 5 pm. Here are instructions for completing the assignment.

1. Download and install ChemDraw on your computer.
    a. Using either Firefox or Internet Explorer, go to the following URL: http://scistore.cambridgesoft.com/sitelicense.cfm?sid=522
    b. Enter your UPS email address and follow the instructions to register and download the appropriate version (Mac or Windows) of ChemDraw.
    c. When you install the program you will be required to enter a serial number and other codes to activate the software. You will receive these codes via email from CambridgeSoft (the company that makes ChemDraw).

2. Open the attached file hw3.cdx. (.cdx is the suffix for ChemDraw files).

3. Use ChemDraw to draw answers to the questions and then save the file with a filename that includes your last name (e.g., hanson_hw3.cdx).

4. Attach the file to an email and send it to me before 5 pm on Thursday, Sept. 17.

I recommend getting started early on this assignment in case you run into technical problems. If you do not have a computer, or are unable to install ChemDraw, some of the lab computers in Thompson/Harned have ChemDraw installed and may be used to complete the assignment.
