Try to have most of these problems done by the 18th (Friday) so that you can formulate any questions on the material before the exam.
Ch. 5 (Read through section 5.8. We'll come back to the other sections later).
Problems: 24 a-e, 25-27, 29, 30 a-j, 32 (try to have these completed by Thursday, 9/24
Ch. 6 Read the entire chapter but for now, skim over 6.1 and 6.2. We'll get back to that when we cover Ch. 7
Problems: 19, 20 a-d, 21, 23-25, 29, 30, 32 (should be completed by Wednesday, September 30 at the latest).
Ch. 7 Read through 7.9 (7.10 is actually quite interesting, but you won't be responsible for it).
Ch. 7 Problems: 16-18, 20a-g, 22, 24, 27, 28 (should be completed by Tuesday, October 6).
Ch. 8 Read the entire chapter (you can do this in parts as we go through the material in class).
Problems: 22 a, c-e, 23-27, 28 a-h, 29-34, 38, 41, 43, 45, 49, 53, 55 (you should be working on these as we proceed through Ch. 8 coverage, but all should be completed by the middle of next week (Exam is on 10/16)).

Ch. 10 Problems: 33 a-e, g, i-o, 34, 36 a, c-e, g-m, o-r, 40, 42, 44, 45, 48, 49, 50 (should be completed by Tuesday, November 3)
Ch. 11 Read the chapter, but you can omit sections 11.8 and 11.13
Problems: 32(except j), 33 b-o, 34, 35, 36 a-d, 38a, 39, 42, 44, 45, 47-49, 51 (should be completed by Wednesday, November 11)
Ch. 10 product prediction practice (say it quickly)
Ch. 13 Problems: 13-16, 18-23 (should be completed by Wednesday, November 18)
Ch. 14 --We will not cover 13C NMR spectroscopy this semester. Problems: 15,19, 21, 22, 23 (note: the integrals represent a ratio), 31. Should be completed by Monday, November 30.
Also, see the websites of Dasher and Hanson for more practice problems.
Here is a link to a spectroscopy website with even more practice problems.
Take-home quiz: turn in solved structures for C4H9Br and C8H8O2 (from NMR P.S. 1). For C8H8O2, you will only be able to narrow it down to 2 out of 3 possible isomers (show both possibilities). Please turn this in on a separate piece of paper and show all work. Due Tuesday, December 1.
Chapter 18 Read the entire chapter except for sections 18.7
End of Chapter problems (should be completed no later than next Monday (December 7))
