Summer Session 2008

Welcome to Summer Session at Puget Sound

We are very pleased that you have chosen to spend some of your time this summer in classes at Puget Sound. Taking classes in Summer Session allows you to catch up on missed credits, complete prerequisites for Fall courses, and enroll in courses you have not been able to fit into your schedule. Summer Session offers a selection of courses from most of the academic departments along with several courses that meet general core and upper division requirements.

By scheduling courses in short, intense blocks of time, Summer Session offers students a different educational experience: the opportunity to fully concentrate on one or two courses at a time. The solid curriculum combined with the attention you will receive from a highly talented and respected faculty will provide you with a top-notch academic challenge this summer.

The faculty for the Summer Session is chosen from the excellent faculty at the University, augmented by visiting professors invited to bring their special talents to Summer Session students. Also on campus in the summer are students in the Academic Challenge Program, various groups visiting campus through the Summer Conference program, and construction workers.

I hope to see you around campus, perhaps while you're picking out the perfect outdoor spot to study or maybe at the Diversions Café or Oppenheimer Café. If you get a chance, stop by my office to chat (Jones 212). Enjoy your time with us this summer.

Be sure to mark your calendar now for the campus-wide Strawberry Shortcake Social on Monday June 23. See you there!
