Puget Sound has gone 23-2-3 in the Northwest Conference over the last two seasons, and has advanced to the NCAA National Tournament twice since Puget Sound began competing at the NCAA Division III level.
Success in Academics and Men's Soccer
Puget Sound is ranked among the top 60 liberal arts institutions in the nation and admission is competitive as incoming first year students have an average SAT score of 1240 and a 3.6 GPA. Success off the field and in the classroom is a top priority for our coaching staff and players. In 1999 we had two 3rd Team NSCAA All-American Scholar Athletes, two 1st Team and three 2nd Team All-Regional Scholar Athletes. We believe that with motivation and time management skills athletes at the University of Puget Sound can achieve success in both academics and soccer.
Division, Conference and Program Goals
Puget Sound Soccer competes in the NCAA III and the NWC (Northwest Conference). Our goal is to compete for a National Title and be a consistent "Top 10" nationally ranked program. Our travel schedule is one of the best in NCAA III Soccer and it affords us the opportunity to expose our players to the highest levels of competition and prepares us for post season play.
Team Selection and Player Profiles
Open tryouts are held each year in August with 20-25 players kept on the roster. No spots are guaranteed so your impact to the program can be immediate. Our players are highly motivated and willing to train year round to reach their potential. Our players are "Division I" talents who want to compete at a national level and play in meaningful post season games. Our players want to have a fulfilling collegiate soccer career, being just part of a soccer program is not enough. They also seek academic success and enjoy the small campus environment with a student-professor ratio of 12-1.
Academic and Financial Assistance
Academic and need-based financial assistance is available for qualified student athletes. Approximately 85% of our students qualified for merit-based and/or need-based funding and the average assistance package topped $17,000. There are numerous scholarships, grants, loans and work-study opportunities. For more information contact the Admissions Office or the Office of Financial Aid.
