Center for Writing, Learning, and Teaching

The mission of the Center for Writing, Learning, and Teaching is to support faculty in their teaching and to provide opportunities for all Puget Sound students to achieve their academic goals.

  • Peer Tutors who will work with you individually or in small groups to improve your understanding of a wide range of subjects
  • Writing Advisors who can help you get started on a paper, organize your thoughts, or improve your editing skills
  • Classes that will increase your reading efficiency, or build strategies for online research
  • Workshops that will teach you how to develop effective study strategies, write a thesis, or manage your time more efficiently
  • Graduate school test preparation software and materials
  • Books on writing, including the APA, MLA, and The Chicago Manual of Style
  • Handouts on a wide range of writing and learning strategies
  • Computers for working on papers, online assignments, and for use with adaptive equipment

Academic Support Services

The Center works closely with the International Programs Office, Fellowships Office, Health Professions Advising, and Academic Advising and Registrar, among other academic departments, to coordinate programs and services that support student success.
